Ernest Loewenstein


NORWICH – Ernest Loewenstein, of Lake Worth, Florida, formerly of Norwich, passed away peacefully Thursday, July 12, 2012.
Ernie was born in Koblenz, Germany on May 28, 1926. He was a veteran of World War II. From 1948 to 2004, he owned and operated a dairy farm on the East River Road, where he was also a cattle dealer. From 1991 until relocating to Florida in 2004, he operated the Riveredge Driving Range at the farm.
He is survived by his wife Davina, of Lake Worth, as well as four children and their wives: Stuart and Elizabeth (Malmquist) Loewenstein of Buffalo, Joseph and Deborah (Streichert) Loewenstein of Cincinnati, Ohio, Joanne Loewenstein of Endicott, and Mark Loewenstein of Sidney. He is also survived by eight grandchildren: Matthew of Houston, Texas; Nathan of Buffalo; Michael, Andrew and Hannah of Cincinnati; and Steven, Austin and Parker of Sidney.
He was predeceased by his parents, Sol and Hedwig Loewenstein, and his brother, Guy.
Interment was in the National Cemetery in Lake Worth, Fla.
