SOUTH EDMESTON – Barbara E. Utter, 67, of South Edmeston, passed away on July 11, 2012 at MIB Hospital, Cooperstown.
Barbara was born on Oct. 3, 1944 in Brooklyn, the daughter of Joseph and Edith (Reed) Cassidy. Her childhood was spent in Brooklyn and then New Berlin, where she was a 1963 graduate of New Berlin Central School.
She was employed as a machine operator for 35 years at Kraft Foods of South Edmeston, and later worked at Walmart in Norwich for 5 years.
Barbara enjoyed traveling with Helen Mockovciak and Diane Cassidy. She also loved to watch humming birds.
She is survived by her companion, Alfred Turner and her children; Rick & Barb Turner of Burlington Flats, Scott Turner of Sherburne, Karen Wright of Burlington Flats, and Brenda Bach of New Berlin, as well as 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister; Rita Miles of Mt Upton, and one brother; Kenneth Cassidy of Pittsfield.
Barbara was predeceased by one sister; Ruth Lanfair and one brother; Walter Cassidy.
