Peter Palamaro


NORWICH – Peter J. Palamaro, 86, of East Syracuse, died on Sunday, July 8, 2012 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse.
Born in Norwich on Dec. 30, 1925, Peter was the son of Joseph and Grace (Garafalo) Palamaro. He graduated from Norwich High School with the Class of 1944 and then served with the United States Army during World War II. Upon his discharge from active service, Peter earned his Associates Degree from Alfred State College. Returning to Norwich and eventually Afton, Peter began a career in engineering with GLA which became Simmonds Precision, where he worked until his retirement.
Peter married Theresa (Plosky) Palamaro, who survives. He is also survived by his daughter, Joan Kilmer and Roy, of North Syracuse; a granddaughter, Jennifer Pedley and her husband, Chris, of Liverpool; a great grandson, Alex Pedley of Liverpool and a sister, Mary Casamento and her husband, Bernie, of Aurora, Ohio. Peter was predeceased by a sister, Mary Palamaro and a brother, George Palamaro.
Peter and Theresa enjoyed winters in Myrtle Beach, S.C. and Peter also enjoyed bowling and hunting as well as fishing, both in summer and winter. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Fayetteville.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Peter will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Bartholomew’s Church in Norwich. Burial will follow in St. Paul’s Cemetery. There will be no public calling hours.
