Kenneth Bartlett


SHERBURNE – Kenneth Francis Bartlett, 69, of Tracey Rd., passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at University Hospital, Syracuse.
He was born May 25, 1943 in DeRuyter, a son of Kenneth C. and Gladys Closson Bartlett and received his education in local schools. On Aug. 4, 1984, Kenneth married Dawn M. Fredenburg in Norwich. Ken was a truck driver for several area companies, including Victory Markets in Norwich and Cossett, now Howard’s Express, in Norwich and Utica. He moved to Florida where he also drove for a few years before returning to Sherburne and worked for Chenango Asphalt Co. in Norwich until his retirement. Ken enjoyed the outdoors, camping and fishing, especially with his sons-in-law on the air boat in Florida. He also loved playing golf with his father-in-law, and riding around on his golf cart.
Surviving are his wife, Dawn; his mother, Gladys Bartlett of Louisburg, N.C.; his children, Daniel Bartlett of N.C.; Tina and Lloyd Fowler of Georgetown; step-children, Tracy and Bob Eichler of Sherburne; Jeff and Maritza Smith of Geneva, Fla.; Denise Thompson and Steve Bunton of Norwich; Tonya and James Barker of Earlville; brothers and sister-in-law, Larry and Donna Bartlett of Louisburg, N.C.; Leslie and Dee Bartlett of Smyrna; Jeff and Theresa Bartlett of Ithaca; brother-in-law, Richard Stoddard of Morrisville; sisters-in-law, Kathy Noldan of Fayetteville; Robin (Larry) Felldin of Afton; 13 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, several nieces, nephews and cousins, including Peggy Marshall of Sherburne; Lorana Zerbil of Fabius. He is also survived by his canine companion, Freckles. He was predeceased by his father in 1985, and his sister, Phyllis Stoddard in 2011.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service.
