GUILFORD – Shirley B. Hubbard,77, of Guilford, passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at her residence. She was born May 28,1935 in Unadilla, the daughter of Clifford and Gladys (Mason) Borthwick.
Shirley was a resident of Guilford since 1968. She had been an Licensed Practical Nurse at The Hospital, Sidney. Active in the Women’s Society of the Methodist Church in Guilford, she also was a member of the Guilford Historical Society and past member of the Guilford Emergency Squad. Shirley cared for special needs persons including her own daughter, Teresa. She worked for the Headstart Program. She enjoyed quilting, bowling and serving the community as well as spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband, David; a son and his fiancee Trent and Dawna; two daughters Teresa and Shirley Marie Bovenkerk and her husband, Chris; three grandchildren Katharine, Jessica and Joshua.
Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Westcott Funeral Home Inc., 123 Main St. Unadilla. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4-6 p.m. Saturday and also on Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service. Rev. Brad Keator will officiate. Interment will be in the Carroll Cemetery, Trout Creek.
In lieu of flowers the family would like contributions made to the Guilford Emergency Squad, Guilford NY 13780 or the American Cancer Society,13 Beech St. Johnson City, New York.
