NORWICH – Michael T. Wackford, 48, of Norwich, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at his home.
Mike was born on Feb. 25, 1964 in Washington, D.C., the son of Bruce and Louise Troy Wackford. He grew up in the Oxford area and attended the Oxford schools. Mike had worked for a period of time for the Job Corps.
Mike will be remembered as a gentle, kind and caring person.
Mike is survived by his wife Melissa of Norwich; his children Sheldon, Michael and Tyler Wackford all of Norwich and Corey Wackford of South Plymouth; his parents Bruce and Louise Wackford of Oxford; his sister Nina (Scott) Angelina of Oxford; and his brother Troy (Samantha) Wackford of Norwich. Several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Funeral services for Mike will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday from the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home. The Rev. Allen Lang, pastor of the United Church of Oxford, will officiate.
There will be no calling hours.
