David Gray

NORWICH – David LJ Noel Gray, 15, formerly of Norwich and most recently of Endicott, passed away unexpectedly on June 13, 2012.
David was born in Norwich in September of 1996 the son of Christy Franklin and Jeffrey Gray. He grew up in the Norwich area and has made his home in Binghamton and Endicott and was a 10th grade student in the Binghamton school.
From the time he was born until now, David showed that he was an individual who had many talents and traits. First and foremost he was loved by his family and many friends. At the early age of 9 months he was walking and this was only a sign of things to come. As he grew, David became his own person and it was clear he was very bright and creative. He was wonderful with his siblings and often showed his gentle side as well as his kindness. David would most often stand up for the underdog and could from time to time show his stubbornness and willingness to enter into a debate to prove a point. He loved a challenge which often brought out his leadership abilities.
David enjoyed his music in general but was especially fond of the guitar. For whatever reason he loved to collect stones, was mechanically inclined and enjoyed his BMX bikes.
David is survived by his mother Christy Doing of Endicott; his father Jeffrey Gray of Holbrook, Ariz.; his siblings Kyya and Rayna Doing of Endicott, Lyric and Hagen Gray of Kentucky; his maternal grandfather David Franklin of Norwich; and paternal grandparents Gary and Victoria Gray of Norwich. Also surviving are his aunts and uncles Lisa and Tom Mody of Norwich, Dawn and Richard Susie of Titusville, Fla., James and Donna Turner also of Titusville, Fla., Cary and Todd Mottle of Norwich, Tina and Martin Korsak of Vestal and Christopher and Karen Gray of New Rochelle. Several cousins also survive.
A celebration of David’s life will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday from the Preston United Methodist Church. The Rev. Richard Anderson and the Rev. George Gallandorm will officiate.
Following the service family and friends are invited to attend a gathering at the LeRoy Franklin Memorial Park on Doing Road.
Please consider memorial contributions to the Preston United Methodist Church, Cty Rt. 19, Norwich, NY 13815.
Arrangements are by the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home.
