Pauline Dunn


NORWICH – Pauline H. Dunn, 83, a long time Norwich resident, passed away Saturday morning, June 9, 2012 in the Valley View Manor Nursing Home.
Pauline was born in Cortland in January of 1929, the daughter of Howard and Julia Tefft Smith. She grew up in the German area and has made her home in Norwich for many years. In her early working career Pauline had worked for the Berglas Manufacturing Co. and the Norwich Shoe Co. She had been employed for over thirty years by GLA and its successors as a glass blower in the glass lab.
Pauline’s life revolved around her family. She was a woman who truly enjoyed helping everyone, not only her family but her many friends. It goes without saying that she was very much loved by everyone and will be greatly missed.
On July 13, 1946 in Norwich she married Edwin H. Dunn Jr., who passed away March 6, 1999.
Pauline is survived by her son Edwin H. (Dayton) Dunn of Norwich, her sister Doris (LeRoy) Burlingame of Norwich, her grandchildren Jamey (Lex) Supensky, Christopher and Alanna Dunn all of Norwich and her great grandchildren, Kristofer and Lilly Supensky and Heath, Austin, Mason and Claire Dunn. Also surviving is her sister-in-law Arlene Smith of North Norwich and her brother-in-law Harold Nelson of Cortland. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Besides her husband Edwin, Pauline was predeceased by her son James Dunn and her brothers Loren and Gordon Smith.
Funeral services for Pauline will be held on Wednesday at 1 p.m. from the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home. The Rev. Allen Lang of the United Church of Oxford will officiate. Interment will follow in the North Norwich Cemetery.
Friends may call at the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m.
