GREENE – Linda J. Jones, 57, of Greene, passed away at home surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with multiple health complications.
She is survived by her mother, Beverly and Emmerich Bares; her husband and companion of 24 years, Cliff Jones; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jamie and Tom, Lisa and Kyle Andrews; step son, Brock Jones; five grandchildren, Jimmy, Abby, Tyler, Tucker and Greyson; brother, Robert Lewis; sister Cheryl Shaffer; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews including Dar and Lee Smith; special companions, Richmond and Snapper; and many special friends including those from the Old Mill Diner.
After working at Security Mutual and Extra Mart, she brought her dream to reality by opening and operating the Old Mill Diner for 13 years. Linda enjoyed camping, fishing and kayaking. She was a loving mother, grandmother, wife and friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Root Funeral Home, 23 N. Chenango Street, Greene. Burial will be in Sylvan Lawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday from noon to 5 p.m. at the Smithville Fire Station.
