HAMLET, N.C. – Richard Bush, Sr., 59, of Hamlet, died Saturday, May 19, 2012 at FirstHealth Palliative Care in Pinehurst. He was born Aug. 18, 1952 in Poughkeepsie, a son of the late, Edward and Josephine Lewis Bush. Richard served his country in the United States Army, and was a Vietnam War Veteran. He worked as a correctional officer with Camp Pharsalia for many years until his retirement. Richard enjoyed gardening, fishing, and hunting in his spare time. Services for Richard will be conducted privately.
Surviving are his wife of 21 years, Rita Bush; two sons, Richard Bush, Jr. and his wife, Adriana of Earlville and their children, Billy, Alex, Morgan, Christian, Dominic, and Angelique; and Christopher Bush and his wife, Cassandra also of Earlville, and their children, Isabella and Zavier; a step son, Steven Carroll and his wife, Jeniffer of Zephyr Hills, Fla. and their son, Cody; a step daughter, Diane Rydzy of China and her children, Fox and Raven; a brother, Edward Bush; and a sister, Lorraine Holmes.
