Elsie Brennan


HAMILTON – Elsie Lawrence Brennan, 90, loving mother and long time resident of Madison Lane, passed away Sunday, May 13, 2012 at the Norwich Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Norwich.
She was born Nov. 7, 1921 in Brooklyn, a daughter of Helmar and Cornelia Olson Lawrence, and received her education in local schools. Elsie married Francis J. Brennan in New York City in 1939. He predeceased her on July 22, 1986. A resident of East Hamilton from 1950 until moving to Madison Lane, Elsie had worked at Vantine Studios in Hamilton in the 1950s and 60s. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Hamilton.
Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Francis J. and Judith Brennan, Boca Raton, FL; Robert T. and Julie Brennan, Fancy Gap, VA; Paul E. and Penny Brennan, Oxford; eight grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 25 Broad St., Hamilton, followed by interment in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Hamilton.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Thursday from noon until 2 p.m. prior to the service.
