Margaret O'neil


NORWICH – Margaret (Peg) Lee O’Neil, 66, of Rutland, Vermont, passed away Wednesday afternoon, March 28, 2012 in the Rutland Regional Medical Center.
The daughter of Edward J. O’Neil and Dorothy Hall O’Neil, Peg was born in Norwich on Sept. 6, 1945. She grew up in Norwich where she attended and graduated from the Norwich schools. Peg furthered her education by attending Powellson Business Institute in Syracuse, where she earned her business degree. She made her home in the Rochester area for many years where she worked for the Xerox Corp. for a brief period of time. Peg then became employed by the State of New York Court System, where she worked as a budget analyst retiring after 25 years of service. She has made her home in Rutland, Vermont for the past several years. While residing in Rutland, Peg enjoyed cooking and spending time with her two felines Maggis and KC.
Peg is survived by her mother Dorothy O’Neil; her sister Jacqueline O’Neil - Fagan of East Greenbush; her brothers; David O’Neil of Syracuse, William (Billy) O’Neil and wife Juliet of Morrisville, VT, Joseph O’Neil of Sparks, NV, Peter O’Neil of Binghamton and Patrick (PJ) O’Neil of New Berlin. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Peg was predeceased by her father Edward O’Neil, her sister Patricia Anne O’Neil and her brothers Michael and Fred O’Neil.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 3, from St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church. The Rev. Ralph A. Bove, pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Paul’s Cemetery.
Friends may call at the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home on Monday from 2 to 4 p.m.
