Judith Johnson


BEAVER MEADOW – Judith (Judy) Ann Johnson, 63, of Beaver Meadow, passed away unexpectedly Sunday evening, March 18, 2012 in the Bassett Hospital of Cooperstown.
Born March 9, 1949 in Greene, Judy was the daughter of Donald and Hilda Gates Hurbut. She grew up in the Whitney Point area and was a graduate of the Whitney Point high school. On Aug. 30, 1968 she married Ronald Johnson, who survives.
A resident of Beaver Meadow for many years, Judy had been employed for Victory Markets for over 20 years until there closing. She subsequently gained employment with NBT where she worked for a period of 10 years.
Judy was a people person and enjoyed visiting with many of her friends and neighbors. Always interested in what was going on in Chenango County, she was forever listening to her scanner and would often receive phone calls from friends and neighbors to find out the particulars. She was an avid crafter and a great fan of Elvis Presley music.
Judy is survived by her husband of 44 years Ronald Johnson of Beaver Meadow; her daughter Anne Dunagan and her husband Ivan also of Beaver Meadow; her six grandchildren and four great grandchildren; her sisters Doris Hurburt and Linda (Rex) Bough, both of Triangle; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Judy was predeceased by her daughter, Marianne Johnson, and her sister, Donna Miles.
Funeral services for Judy will be held at noon on Friday from the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the South Street Cemetery in Triangle.
Friends may call at the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at noon.
