Thomas Daly

McDONOUGH – Thomas F. Daly, 70, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, Feb. 26, 2012, after a brief illness.
Born in Newark, New Jersey, Tom resided in McDonough since 1980. Tom was an avid motorcycle rider and from an early age developed a passion for Harley Davidson motorcycles that continued until his passing.
A lifelong sheet metal worker, Tom was legendary for his mechanical abilities, his unsurpassed work ethic and his seemingly boundless energy. When not plying his trade, Tom could routinely be found grooming his well-manicured fields and outbuildings, cutting firewood, or helping a neighbor or friend.
Tom’s zest for life also extended to his hobby of collecting antique lighting, as his maroon Ultra Glide frequently carried him across the country in pursuit of elusive “Iron Horses” to add to his beloved lamp collection.
Above all else, the greatest passion of Tom’s life was his family and he delighted in spending time with his wife, his children and his grandchildren. Tom’s premature passing leaves a void that cannot be filled.
He is survived and mourned by his loving wife Bobbie, adoring sons Tommy, Jimmy and Jeff, daughters Dawn and Colleen, grandchildren Allison, Erik, David, Hunter, Zachary, Cecilia and Dexter, brothers James and Edward, sisters Margaret, Ellen and Mary, and nieces, nephews and friends too numerous to list.
Calling hours will be from 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday at Wilson Funeral Home, 68 South Broad St., Norwich. Funeral services for Tom will be held on Saturday in New Jersey.
Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting the Wilson Funeral Home website at: www.wilsonfh.com.
