Joseph Motyka Jr.


OXFORD – Joseph M. Motyka Jr., 63, of Oxford, passed away at his home on Feb. 9, 2012.
He was born on June 2, 1948 in Brooklyn, a son of the late Joseph and Helen (Rylo) Motyka Sr.
He is survived by his wife, Helena (Krasinski) Motyka; his children, Mary and Tim Dye and children, Joshua and Jessica, Joseph and Allison Motyka, Kate and Dante Roccasecca and children, Asia, Anthony, and Gabriella, Jen and Chris Dwight and daughter, Hannah; his brothers, Robert and Lillian Motyka, and Philip and Gail Motyka and children, Timothy and Sarah, and his special daughter, Kristi Curtis Downey. He was predeceased by his twin brother, Paul and his sister, Donna.
Joe served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Viet Nam era. He was a member of the Marine Corps League, Fort Hill Post 376, American Legion, Christy Rock Post 1232, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and a life member of the Disabled American Veterans. He loved to hunt and fish.
His wife, children and grandchildren were the loves of his life.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph’s Church, State St., Oxford. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Oxford.
Friends may call at the Behe Funeral Home, 21 Main St., Oxford, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
