Bud was active member and Elder, since 1979, of the Seven Valley Christian Church in McGraw.
“Grandpa” as he was known by to many, enjoyed being outdoors, cutting wood, a good meal and John Deere Tractors, but most of all he was happiest surrounded by his family, his church family and taking care of others. (Stuart) Ward of Homer; nine grandchildren, Jason, Tara, Laci, Sheriden, Carter, D.J., Dusti, Michael and Hannah; his seven great-grandchildren, Colbi, Aleigha, Jordan, Katelynn, Danielle, Brent and Hunter. Also surviving are his siblings, Leonard (Barbara) Monroe of Murphy, N.C.; Joyce (Bill) Niles of Guilford; Dorothy (Wilbur) Haynes of Bainbridge; Vivian Phillips of Norwich, and Earl (Donna) Monroe of Norwich; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many, many dear friends.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the Seven Valley Christian Church, 14 Spring St., McGraw, with Pastor Loyal Gallaher officiating.
Calling hours will be held at the Donald L. Barber Funeral Home, 5016 N. Main St., Homer on Tuesday evening from 5-8 p.m.
