Alvin Edmonds


COLUMBUS – Alvin Charles Edmonds, 66, of the Town of Columbus, passed away Jan. 12, 2012 at home surrounded by his family.
He was born on Nov. 19, 1945 in South Edmeston, the son of Charles & Leona (Hackett) Edmonds. His childhood was spent in the New Berlin and South Edmeston areas. He attended New Berlin Central School.
Alvin was the owner and operator of Edmonds Lumber in South Edmeston.
He survived by his spouse, Teresa “Terry” (Feitsma) Edmonds whom he married in September of 2004. He is also survived by his mother, Leona Edmonds, children; Charles & Tammy Edmonds of Smyrna, Rebecca & Mert Hull of Garrattsville; a step-son, Fred & Debbie Muller; and grandchildren; Brittany & Charles Edmonds, Kristy, Amanda & Cody Fink and Taylor Manwarren. He is also survived by one sister; Arlene & Dale Smith of Canajoharie, and one nephew, Dale Smith; as well as several cousins.
Alvin was an avid collector of farm and industrial toys. He enjoyed attending toy shows. He also loved giving friends and family tractor rides to the camp on his property.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Dakin Funeral Home LP, New Berlin, with Pastor Romeyn Kipp officiating. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m., also at the funeral home.
The interment will be in the South Brookfield Cemetery, South Brookfield.
