William Ryfinski Jr.


EARLVILLE – William Ryfinski Jr. 63, of Craine Lake Rd., died Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011 at home.
He was born April 24, 1948 in Utica, a son of the late William, Sr. and Victoria F. Radivon Ryfinski. A lifelong Earlville resident, he was a graduate of Earlville High School. Bill was a true entrepreneur, who had a diversified career. At an early age he was the owner and operator of a service station in Manlius. He also owned Chenango Sporting Goods in Norwich and later W.R. Supply in Earlville. He was involved in real estate and was a real estate agent. Most recently, he developed a logging business. On July 11, 2009, Bill was married to Gwendolyn J. Abbott at their home in Earlville. Bill was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Hamilton; and was on the Board of the Hamilton Food Pantry.
Surviving is his wife, Gwen; step-daughter, Angelique Abbott of Dumfries, VA; step-grandson, Angel Manuel Garcia; an aunt, Agnes Ryfinski of Earlville; his cousins, Edith (Fred) Van Wagner of Sherburne; Mary (Fred) Emano of Ballston Spa; Irene Hungerford of Fineview; Kristyna (Jim) Gough of Ottawa, Canada; Jeanette Betka and Robert (JoAnn) Betka, of Endwell; and a special friend, Michael Wiggins of Vestal.
A Memorial Mass was held at St. Malachy’s Church in Sherburne with burial in St. Malachy’s Cemetery.

Arrangements were entrusted to Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne.
