Frank Moscardini


NEW BERLIN – Frank Charles Moscardini, 73, New Berlin, passed away on Dec. 5, 2011 at MIB Hospital, Cooperstown.
He was born on Feb. 11, 1938 the in Bronx, the son of Luigi & Margherita (Franchinotti) Moscardini. His childhood was spent in the Bronx, where he graduated from Cardinal Hayes High School and later attended Fordham University for two years.
Frank served in the United States Air Force Air National Guard from 1961-1962 during the Berlin Crisis as a staff sergeant in the military police. He was later employed as an Occupational Therapy Assistant II and Director of the Paul Malay Center in New Berlin, and worked part time for 17 years restoring antique furniture.
Frank was the loving father of Elaine Moscardini and her husband David Brand of Seattle Washington, Carlos & Misty Moscardini of Norwich, Lisa Marie & Michael Lane, Austin, Texas and Michael & Nicole Moscardini of New York City, all who survive him. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Morgan and Mackenzie Brand, Kendall, Brooks and Christian Lane, Alexandra Moscardini and her baby brother who is expected soon.
Also surviving are one sister: Mary Perotti of Medford; one niece: Diane and husband Vinnie Bosco and their children; and two nephews: Michael & Pam Perotti and their children, Paul & Laura Perotti as well as four great grandnieces and nephews.
He was a member of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, New Berlin, past member of the New Berlin Planning Commission and a member of the New Berlin Housing and Preservation Co. Board of Directors for 10 years.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Dakin Funeral Home, LP New Berlin.
A funeral mass will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, New Berlin with Father Lester Smith officiating.
The interment will be held in the St. Andrews Cemetery, New Berlin.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association, the American Veterans Association or the Alzheimer’s Association.
