Mary Lou York


ORLANDO, Fla. – Mary Louise York, 69 years old, passed away at home on Nov. 7, 2011 with family by her side.
Born Mary Louise Bartlett on Feb. 26, 1942 in Norwich to John and Helen Bartlett, Mary Lou was a long time resident of Oneonta, where she raised her family.
Mary Lou is survived by her husband William York of Orlando, Florida, his children Samantha Tellone of Dallas, TX, William H. York, Jr. of Hopedale, MA, brother Larry Bartlett and his wife Nancy of Essex Junction, Vermont, son Joseph Angelino of Windermere, Florida, his wife Mandy, along with their daughters Bella and Addison, son Paul Angelino of Orlando, Florida, his wife Ellie, their sons Dominic and Nicholas and daughter Bailey, and sister in-law Lorry Bartlett. Mary Lou is predeceased by her brother Jerry Bartlett of Madeira Beach, Florida, who passed away in 2009.
Mary Lou was a graduate of Norwich High School in 1960, and a CCBI graduate in 1962. Mary Lou was a devout Catholic and parishioner of the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Orlando, Florida. Mary Lou had a great faith in God and his strong embrace. When not spending her time with her family, Mary Lou volunteered at Give Kids the World, Coalition for the Homeless, faithfully participated weekly with her Rosary Group, as well as supporting numerous worthy causes with the gift of her time and love.
Mary Lou will be remembered as a terrific wife and sister, a wonderful and loving mother, mother in-law and grandmother, and a loyal friend to all who knew her. The tremendous faith, courage, dignity and wonderful sense of humor, she displayed while battling her year long illness, was truly amazing. She never allowed the way her illness made her feel, to get in the way of enjoying her life. She spent her time traveling and visiting with family and friends letting them know how much they meant to her. Her kindness and love will always be missed.
Calling hours will take place, Monday. Nov. 21 from 6 to 8 p.m. at R.J. Fahy Funeral Home, 116 N Broad St., Norwich. Funeral services for Mary Lou will begin with a prayer service at 10 a.m. on Tuesday Nov. 22 at R.J. Fahy Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. from St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church. Interment will follow in the Mount Hope Cemetery of Norwich.
