SHINHOPPLE – Lillian “Towhie” Palmer, 87, originally and proudly from Shinhopple, NY passed away unexpectedly at her home early Saturday morning Nov. 5, 2011.
Lillian was born Feb. 24, 1924 in Shinhopple, the daughter of Floyd and Edith Fitch. She was a caring, loving and giving lady who loved and was loved so much by her family. Her gentle ways, her love of flowers, birds, animals and all things of nature, especially her skunks “Arnold and babies,” will be remembered by all who knew her.
Lillian is survived by her husband of 69 years Charles, her son Thomas Palmer and wife Shirley, her grandchildren Shannon Nelson and husband Kyle, Shawn and wife Suzanne, her great grandchildren Dakota, Drew, Matt and Bryan. She is also survived by her sisters Frances Natoli, Althea Tompkins and Joyce Hemstrought and husband Bill. Her Aunt Evelyn Beams along with many nieces and nephews.
Lillian was predeceased by her parents Floyd and Edith Fitch, her brother Robert and sisters Edna and Mildred and her beloved great granddaughter Ashley Michael.
“It’s not what she left this world with, it’s what she left behind.”
In keeping with Lillian’s request there will be no calling hours. There will be a memorial service on Saturday at 1 p.m. from the Faith Bible Church in Oxford.
