Erma Noble


UNADILLA – Erma L. Noble, 77, of Unadilla, passed away Sunday morning, Oct. 2, 2011, in the Binghamton General Hospital.
Born in Norwich in December of 1933, Erma was the daughter of Leslie and Frances Howard Eggleston. While growing up, she attended school in both Norwich and South New Berlin. Erma lived for 25-30 years in Unadilla in her early adult life, subsequently relocating to Westmoreland where she made her home for 26 years. Following the death of her husband, she moved back to Unadilla to be closer to her sister. During her working years, Erma was employed for a time by the Norwich Shoe Company, and also worked in the cafeteria of the Unadilla elementary school.
Erma is survived by her children and their spouses: Barbara and Michael Sastra of Vestal, Douglas and Diane Watson of Walton, and Dennis Watson of Walton; and by her sisters, Helen Gramstad of Norwich and Beatrice Eastwood of Unadilla. Also surviving are Erma’s grandchildren: Douglas Watson, Stacy Stevens and husband Max, Mandy Watson, Scott Sastra, and Kelli Harkenreader; several great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Erma was predeceased by her first husband, Lloyd Watson; her second husband, Clifford Noble; and her sister, Anna Ashcraft.
Memorial services for Erma will be held at 1 p.m. Friday from the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home. The Rev.Michael Willis, pastor of the Vestal United Methodist Church, will officiate. Interment will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Friends are invited to call at the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home on Friday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.
