Everett Fleming


HAMILTON – Everett (Ned) James Fleming, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Sept. 18, 2011, one week short of his 75th birthday.
He was born in Eaton, a son of Harold E. and Doris Myers Fleming and attended Hamilton and Syracuse schools. He had lived in the Hamilton area and his entire life where he had worked at the Blue Bird Restaurant and later at the Morrisville Dry Cleaners. Ned was a reporter for the Mid-York Weekly for many years, and a weather watcher for Syracuse TV station WTVH 5. He was a member of the Central NY Chapter of the Pioneer Gas Engine Association, loved the history of the railroads and enjoyed relating stories from olden times when trains passed through Randallsville. He was also a member of the Big Country C.B. Club. He was an avid bird watcher and loved his pets dearly.
Surviving are his sisters and brothers-in-law, Clarice and Ted Aldridge of Hamilton; Jennie and Bob Buterbaugh of Sherburne; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Raymond.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 25 Broad St., Hamilton.
Interment will be private in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Hamilton.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service.
