Clyde Joscelyn


OXFORD – Clyde A. Joscelyn, 88, of Oxford, passed away on Sept. 13, 2011 at Chenango Memorial Hospital, Norwich.
He was born on Feb. 25, 1923 in Scott Township, Pa., a son of the late Alfred and Sarah (Dimon) Joscelyn. On Jan. 28, 1948, he married Ruth V. Kuhlmann, who passed away on April 28, 1987.
He is survived by his children; Edward Joscelyn of Ringoes, N.J., Ross and Cathy Joscelyn of Oxford, and Esther Joscelyn of Oxford; his grandchildren, Clayton and Heather Joscelyn of Jersey Shore, Pa. and Leslie Joscelyn of Norwich; his great grandchildren, Nathan, Rebecca and Jakob; his sisters, Verda Spencer and Leatha Phillips both of Norwich. He was predeceased by his brother Latimer E. Joscelyn.
Clyde was a graduate of Oxford Academy and Central School, Class of 1941. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He was a DIH inspector for 25 years before going to work at Oxford Academy and Central School from 1972 until 2009.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Behe Funeral Home, 21 Main St., Oxford with Leon Barrows officiating. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Oxford.
Friends may call at the Behe Funeral Home on Saturday from noon until the time of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Oxford Fire Department Emergency Squad, PO Box 172, Oxford, NY or Oxford Dollars for Scholars, PO Box 192, Oxford, NY.
