Jennie Fredenburg


NORWICH – Jennie M. Fredenburg “Trudy,” 83, of Norwich, passed away Friday evening, Sept. 9, 2011 in the New York State Veterans’ Home in Oxford, where she has made her home for the past several years.
Trudy was born in McDonough in May of 1928, the daughter of Claude and Anna Bosworth Westover. As a young girl she made her home with her family in the Preston and McDonough areas and had attended the Oxford school. On June 22, 1945 in Oxford, she married Robert D. Fredenburg, who passed away Oct. 11, 2000.
Trudy had worked over thirty years for GLA and its successors. Prior to her retirement she worked in the shipping and receiving dept. for B.F. Goodrich.
A family oriented and happy person Trudy was always there for her family and could quite often be seen with a smile on her face. If there was a bingo game anywhere in the area, you could count on Trudy being there. She was also always ready and willing to play a good game of cards.
Trudy is survived by her children Kathy Noldan of Canastota, Dawn (Ken) Bartlett of North Norwich and Robin (Laurence) Felldin of Afton, her sisters Retha Webb of Sherburne, Evelyn McGraw of Chittenango and Joyce Pollock of Norwich. Also surviving are her grandchildren Nancy, Tracy, Jeff, Denise, Tonya, Breanna, Laurin, Heather, Kelli, Joshua, Logan and Kaci along with several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her husband Robert, Trudy was predeceased by a son Scott Fredenburg her sisters Mary Dolan, Mildred Coy, Gladys Maricle, Florence Perkins, Ruth Nelson, Alice Swenson, June Miles, her brothers Harold, Robert, Gerald and Maurice Westover and her son-in-law August Noldan.
Funeral services for Trudy will be held on Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. from the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home. The Rev. Ralph Bove, Pastor of St. Paul’s and St. Bartholomew’s Catholic Churches will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Paul’s Cemetery. Friends may call at the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:30.
