LAURENCE KENNEDY
NORWICH – Laurence “Larry” Kennedy, 53, of Norwich peacefully went to be with the Lord on Sept. 2, 2011, at his home and surrounded by family.
Born in Norwich on Feb. 12, 1958, Larry was the son of Thomas and Beverly (Wakefield) Kennedy. He grew up in the Oxford-Norwich area and graduated from Phoenix High School in 1976. After graduation, Larry joined the United States Navy for which he served ten years.  He did many different jobs after the Navy. He was an entrepreneur in Norwich and took great pleasure in running his own business.
Larry was also devoted to his family and loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife, Melissa (Dempsey) Kennedy, parents Thomas and Anna Kennedy; children Shannon (Jay) Smith, Sarah (Matt Lindholm) Kennedy, Erin (Thomah Scott) Kennedy, Michael (Val) Kennedy, and Joshua (Jessica) Kennedy; stepchildren Amber (Paul) McMullen, Meghan McMullen, Colleen McMullen, and Paula (Shane) Crawford; grandchildren Gavin and Garret Smith, Chelsea Kolis, Mason and Cassidy Lindholm, Allan and Andru Donnelly, Dakota Andrial, Dylan, Briana and Alex Kennedy, Jada Kennedy; stepgrandchildren P.J., Cadan, and Riley Russell, Caleb Gray, Bryshaun McMullen and Ella Blackwell, Trelane and Tarrendara Crawford, and Robby and Allanalee Button. Little Jordan Kennedy is on the way. Larry is also survived by brothers Ernie and Tom Cook, and sisters Jackie Boeman, Jane Cook, Vickie Hendrickson, and Annette Monday. Several nieces and nephews also survive.  Larry was predeceased by his mother, Beverly, brother, Thomas, and granddaughter, Jade Kennedy.
In recognition of Larry’s wishes, there will be no calling hours.  A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
