Stephen Anderson


NORWICH – Stephen H. Anderson, 64, of Norwich, passed away Sunday evening, Aug. 21, 2011, in the Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse.
Born in Manhattan in June of 1947, Steve was the son of Charles M. and Stephanie Miks Anderson. He grew up in Long Island, where he graduated from Commack High School and went on to earn his bachelor’s degree at Adelphi University. Steve was a veteran, having served his country in the United States Army. In 1970, Steve moved to upstate New York and went to work in the family business, Standard Printed Circuits. He subsequently purchased the business and owned it until his retirement. On March 20, 1971, in Norwich, Steve married Sandra Lee Rump, with whom he celebrated his 40th anniversary this year. An avid golfer, Steve’s other passion was fine automobiles, and it was said that he had retired just to play golf and drive his cars.
Steve is survived by his wife, Sandra Anderson of Norwich; by his son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Anna Anderson of Alexandria, Va.; his mother, Stephanie Anderson of Sherburne; his sisters, Carla J. Fey of Highland Falls and Linda Staley and husband Jack of Sherburne; and by his future grandchild, due in January of 2012. Nieces and nephews also survive. Steve was predeceased by his dad, Charles.
Funeral services for Steve will be held at 1 p.m. Friday from the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home. The Rev. Jamie Schultz will officiate. Interment will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Friends are invited to call at the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m.
Steve’s family would appreciate memorial contributions being sent to the Upstate Medical Hospital, to be used toward their new adult cancer facility. Checks should be made payable to “Upstate Cancer Center” and sent to 750 East Adams Street CAB326, Syracuse, New York 13210.
