David Scott Fitch


ROCHESTER – David Scott Fitch, 24, of Rochester, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 26, 2011, in the Strong Memorial Hospital of Rochester.
Born in October of 1986 in Hamilton, David lived in Mt. Upton and Conway, S.C., in his early years and grew up in Beaver Meadow. He was a 2004 graduate of the Otselic Valley High School, where he was involved in the school plays and was the school mascot. He furthered his education at Hofstra University in Long Island and at SUNY Brockport. Currently employed by the Olive Garden Restaurant, David had previously worked for the Dewey Avenue Smoke Shop, both in Rochester. David was a “loving and sarcastic soul” who always had a positive attitude and was a positive role model for many. In his short years, he had survived cancer twice. Every chance he got he contributed his time and energy to the Relay for Life, and he was also involved with Clean Sweep of Rochester, a community clean-up effort he firmly believed in. He loved video games, having seriously at one considered a career as a professional gamer. He loved to make people laugh, loved pirates, movies and music, and enjoyed the New York Giants football games. But his biggest passion was for the movie Star Wars.
David is survived by his mother and father, Sandy and Steve Schutt of Beaver Meadow; his sister, Michelle Fitch and Sean O’Dell of Hamlin; his sister, Melinda Schutt and Jared Ramsey of Erieville, his brother, Bryce Schutt of Beaver Meadow; his biological father, Scott Fitch and Scott’s children, Ira and Gracie Fitch; and David’s girlfriend, Mandy McNamara. He is also survived by his maternal grandfather, Ronald Frink and Beverly Speedling; grandparents Richard and Patricia Schutt; his nephew, Liam O’Dell; his special aunts: Dee-Ann Granger and her partner Marty Warren, and Penne Wolfe and her husband John; special cousins: Lucas Curtis and Marcus Granger, Chas and Kaitlyn Frink, and Savannah Wolfe; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews. and cousins. David was predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Rita Frink; his paternal grandparents, Robert Fitch, Sr. and Norma Fitch Parker; and by his uncles, Ronald Frink, Jr., and Gerry, Darryl, and Michael Hicks.
Funeral services for David will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday from the R. J. Fahy Funeral Home. The Rev. Jeremy Stopford, pastor of the Earlville Baptist Church, will officiate. Interment will follow in the South Plymouth Cemetery. Friends are invited to call at the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the service at 1 p.m.
