Debbie Thompson


NORWICH – Debbie Thompson, 49, a life long resident of the Norwich area, passed away unexpectedly Saturday evening, July 23, 2011 in the Chenango Memorial Hospital.
Debbie was born in Norwich in July of 1962 and was the daughter of Warren and Rose Wilbur Bradt. She grew up mostly in the Norwich area and had also made her home in Stamford for a brief period of time. Debbie had attended St. Paul’s Catholic School and the Stamford and Oxford schools. Over the years, Debbie has worked as a waitress for several area restaurants, driven for First Transit of Norwich and had worked in nursing at the Valley View Manor Nursing Home as well as the Gilmour Health Care Facility. Debbie was also a veteran of the United States Army.
Debbie is survived by her husband Alfred of Norwich; her father Warren Bradt of Florida; her step-children Alfred Thompson III and his fiancee Amanda and their children Aiden and Alex, Joshua Thompson of North Pharsalia and Matthew and Jessica Thompson both of Norwich; her sisters, Heather Bradt and companion Tobi Moore of Oxford and their children Melissa, Dezeray, Cheyanne and Zane Moore, Renee’ Brandt- Morton and her children Kayli and Kodie Morton of Oxford and Christene Evans of Florida; her brothers Randy Cooper of Oxford and Warren Bradt Jr. of Oxford. Also survivng are her special aunt and uncle who she spent some of her early years with, Robert and Evelyn Zemkin and their son Robert of Davenport and 2 step-grandchildren Aiden and Alex. Several other nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws also survive.
Memorial services for Debbie will be held at 10 a.m. Friday from the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home. The Rev. Jeremy Stopford, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Earlville, will officiate. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
There will be no calling hours.
