Leah Osterhout


NORWICH – Leah Macenzie Osterhout “Leah Beah,” 6 year old daughter of Bruce and Melissa Schlafer Osterhout II, went to be with the angels, Thursday, June 23, 2011.
Leah was born in Norwich on May 18, 2005 and had just graduated from her kindergarten class at Gibson School. A very happy, funny and outgoing little girl, she had the ability to make you laugh when you didn’t even want to smile. She loved her family and all the things nature had to offer, rocks, flowers, insects and all animals. Leah always liked to dance and play, especially when it was with her cousins and was always ready to watch SpongeBob on TV.
Leah is survived by her parents Bruce and Melissa, her sisters Kaci and Kyli Osterhout, her brother Jon Foulds all of Norwich; her maternal grandparents Sharon and Jim Everard, Denny and Diane Schlafer, Linda and Doug DeLong and Bruce and Cathy Osterhout Sr. all of Norwich. Also surviving are her maternal great grandmothers Marion Schlafer of Sherburne and Helen Pedersen of Norwich, her paternal great grandparents Bill Osterhout of Oneonta, Leah Thompson of New Berlin and Lois Deuel of Norwich. Many aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.
Funeral services for Leah will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday from the Emmanuel Episcopal Church of Norwich. The Very Rev. Charles Taylor will officiate. Interment will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Emmanuel Episcopal Church on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at 2 p.m.
