Ralph Tryon


NORWICH – Ralph Tryon, 81, of Norwich, passed away June 15, 2011 at his home.
He was born March 7, 1930 in Rome, the son of the late Lethan and Louise Jones Tryon.
Ralph served with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War from 1951-1954. Upon his honorable discharge, Ralph attended and graduated from Cortland State with a teaching degree in Phys Ed. Over the years Ralph taught at Margaretville, Delhi and Oxford.
Ralph was a 53 year member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Cortland. In his spare time he enjoyed participating in athletic activities and sports including his favorite, soccer. 
He is survived by his wife of 52 years Barbara Tryon of Norwich, his daughters Brenda (Duward) Tryon Campbell of Texas, Carla (Paul) Tryon Turner of Mass., brother Raymond Tryon of California, his grandchildren Jenna Turner, Trevor Turner, and Curtis Campbell, and niece Nancy Marquardt of California.
A calling hour will be Monday 9-10 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Madison St., Cortland with a service to begin 10 a.m. at the church. A reception will follow in the church hall. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. at the Marathon Cemetery, Marathon, with Military Honors. 
In lie of flowers contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or the Oxford Emergency Squad.
