HAMILTON – Alice F. Harris, 89, of Hamilton, passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at the Harding Nursing Home, Waterville.
She was born June 14, 1921 in Schuyler, a daughter of Walter and Cora Sullivan Denslow and attended local schools. On Oct. 21, 1943, Alice married Walter R. Harris in Madison. He predeceased her on March 8, 2000. A Hamilton resident most of her life, Alice was the housekeeper for the Park United Methodist Church for several years, and later for several area families. She was a member of the Park United Methodist Church.
Surviving are her children, Shirley Harris of Sidney; Dorothy Broadback of Ft. Myers, FL; Nancy Lewicki of Norwich; Janet Jones of Poland, NY and Walter R. Harris Jr. of Hamilton; a sister, Florence Denslow of Boonville; ten grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 25 Broad St., Hamilton at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday followed by burial in the West Eaton Cemetery.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10 to 11:30 a.m. prior to the service.
