Bill Fiorello


NORWICH – Bill “UB” Fiorello, 63, of Gold Street, Norwich, passed away unexpectedly, from his battle with Pulmonary Fibrosis on Thursday May 12, 2011 at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pa.
Bill was born in Brooklyn on June 16, 1947. Bill was the son of William and Eleanor (Messina) Fiorello. Bill graduated in 1965 from East Islip High School, where he then traveled for a while before settling in upstate New York, living in Sherburne and New Berlin before coming to Norwich. Bill eventually moved to Ithaca, where he worked for 20 years at Ithaca College as a graphics duplicator, and also worked as a DJ in his spare time on weekends, before Bill returned to Norwich upon his retirement in October of 2009 to be with his family.
Bill is survived by his sister, Leonora (Fiorello) Meyer. Also, his niece Dana Meyer, her fiancé Mike Gross, nephew AJ Zimmer, and Harley (aka Fat Cat) whom Bill lived with and shared his life with after his retirement. Daniel Meyer, nephew, Tammy Sharpe, niece, with many great nieces and nephews.
Bill had a passion for music that he shared with loving friends and family. A love for movies, and enjoyed all of the latest gadgets.
A memorial service for Bill will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the Wilson Funeral Home. There will be no calling hours. A luncheon in memory of Bill will be held at his home after the memorial.
