Raymond White


EARLVILLE – Raymond G. White, 64, of Earlville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 24, 2011 with his family by his side after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
Born June 1, 1946 in Norwich, he was a son of Darrell and Margarete Nye White. He was a 1965 graduate of Norwich High School and attended SUNY Morrisville. On July 19, 1969, Raymond married Mollie LaMore in Norwich. Ray developed an early interest in farming through 4-H and enjoyed farming most of his life. He had also worked as a logger and a truck driver and was employed at Wilcox Farm before poor health caused him to retire. 
Ray took great interest in his community and was an honorary member of the Alert Hose Co., Norwich Fire Department and a member of the Norwich Emergency Squad. Besides his family, Ray enjoyed taking day road trips, watching westerns and war movies, hunting, gardening and country music.
Ray is survived by his wife of 41 years, Mollie; eight children and their spouses, Wendy and Gerry Edwards, Wade and Wendy White, Ward and Michele White, Wynne and Brian Furner, Warren White, Wanda and John Bartlett, Winifred and Greg Marshall and Wesley White; eighteen grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Craig and Carrie White; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Charles and Sharon LaMore; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 3 Preston St., Earlville.
Interment in the Earlville Cemetery will be made in the spring.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Monday from noon until 2 p.m. prior to the service.
