Pauline Stevens


NORWICH – Pauline E. Stevens, 97, formerly of Norwich, Greene and Binghamton passed away Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2011 in the Willow Point Nursing Home of Vestal.
Pauline was born in Norwich in August of 1913, the daughter of Raymond and Blanche (Genung) Salisbury. While living in Norwich she and her husband Raymond owned and operated the Gulf station on North Broad St. In 1966 she moved to Florida where she made her home until moving back to the Binghamton area in 1979. Even though she was retired, Pauline remained active as a volunteer for the Red Cross, meals on wheels and the Town of Chenango where she would do research and typing for the town’s history book.
Pauline is survived by her daughter Marlene Pepper and her husband Robert of Binghamton, Gordon Stevens and his wife Barbara of Lakeland, Fla., her grandchildren Robert (Bobby) Pepper and his wife Heather of Binghamton, Elaine Frank and her husband Tim of Oxford, Corinna Ladd and her husband Ed of Binghamton and Michael and Barry Stevens of Florida. Also surviving are step-grandchildren Cheryl and Christopher Barron as well as 14 great grandchildren, 2 step great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
Pauline was predeceased by her husband Raymond in 1978 and her son Raymond Jr.
Graveside services for Pauline will be held at a later date at a time to be announced.
