Bonita Vanwagner


SHERBURNE – Bonita R. VanWagner, 87, of 12 S. Main St., passed away Monday, Feb. 28, 2011 at the Pratt Newton Memorial Home.
She was born March 13, 1923 in Carthage, a daughter of Ralph and Agnes Branagan Meister and was a graduate of Earlville High School in 1940. On Sept. 10, 1941, Bonita was married to Robert A. VanWagner in Earlville. They lived in Earlville until 1957 when they moved to Sherburne. Robert predeceased her on Aug. 28, 1991.
Bonita was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Sherburne, where she was a member of the United Methodist Women and the Adult Fellowship.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Robin VanWagner of Sherburne and James and Genemarie VanWagner of Rochester; two daughters and a son-in-law, Maxine and Otis Hovencamp of Irving, and Patricia VanWagner of Seattle, Wash.; a sister and brother-in-law, Eudora and Alfred Miller of Groveland, Fla.; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Harold Meister.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne.
Interment will be in West Hill Cemetery, Sherburne in the spring.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Friday from 6-8 p.m.
