Crystal Wright


NORWICH – Crystal N. Wright, 75, life-long Norwich resident, passed away Tuesday night, Feb. 15, 2011, in the Chenango Memorial Hospital.
The daughter of Julian H. and Irma Gardner Tiffany, Crystal was born late in April of 1935. She attended the Norwich schools but left during her senior year to go to work for Victory Markets to help her family. But following her June 11, 1955 marriage to James Wright, Crystal dedicated herself to her home and her family. She was a lady with a fabulous green thumb who could grow anything, and she loved her flowers and birds. She also enjoyed photography.
Crystal is survived by her husband, Jim, of Norwich; her children and their spouses: Nancy and Gary Spencer of McDonough, James Wright and companion Keri Rifanburg of Norwich, Pati and Dan Spencer of McDonough, John and Karen Wright of Newborn, Ga., and Lori and William Nichols of Norwich. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; and Crystals sisters and brothers-in-law: Nettie and Fred Hodge of East Palatka, Fla., Juanita and Richard Angle of Oxford, Jeanette and Francis Shapley of Norwich, Beatrice and Ralph Quincy of Norwich, June and Thomas Wright of Maryland, NY; her brothers and sisters-in-law: Orrin and Connie Tiffany of Kingsport, Tenn., Victor and Pat Tiffany of Oxford, and Julian “Stub” Tiffany of Preston. She was predeceased by her brother, Leslie Tiffany.
Funeral services for Crystal will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday from the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home. Roy Morris, lay minister of the 7th Day Adventist Church of Norwich, will officiate. Interment will be at a later date in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Friends are invited to call at the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m.
