NORWICH – William Henry Goss, age 74, died Monday, Feb. 14, 2011 in Norwich.
Known to many as Bill, William was born Aug. 20, 1936, in Butts Corners. He spent his younger years in Prosser Hollow and made his home in Norwich.
He was one of ten children born to the late Charles and Emma Goss.
Mr. Goss is survived by his sister, Beverly Cooper of Pelham, Ga., several nieces and nephews and extended family; Sandra Manwarren, Kyle and Tracy Downey, Jeffrey Downey, Tammy Roach and sixteen grandchildren all of Norwich.
He is predeceased in death by his sisters Adeline Kathman, Grace Whitney, Genevieve Rivenburg, Agnes Goss and brothers Raymond Goss, Almarion Goss, Lester Goss and Richard Goss.
Bill was an active member of Bible Baptist Church in Norwich. He touched the lives of many people with his unending love, kindness and giving heart. He loved to be outdoors. Some people knew him only as “the waver man” because not a car could go by the house without a friendly acknowledgment from Bill. He enjoyed building things, spending time with the children and caring for animals. Bill loved the Lord and so it is fitting that God chose to bring Bill home on the day we celebrate love. The world has lost the gift of a wonderful friend but we have comfort knowing we will see him again someday.
All are invited to attend a memorial service at 1 p.m. Saturday at Bible Baptist Church, 23 Birdsall Street, Norwich.
