Edith Peck


ANDES – Edith E. Peck, 73, a native and lifelong Andes (Delaware County) resident, passed away peacefully at home, Friday, Jan 28, 2011.
Born in Andes, March 31, 1937, the daughter of the late John M. and Lenora D. (Graham) Coss, she was a 1956 graduate of Andes High School.
In earlier years, she worked at Delwood Foods, Fraser, and later at Amphenol, Sidney, for over 20 years, until retirement.
“Edie” especially enjoyed time spent with her family, as well as cookouts, Senior Citizen bus trips, dancing, playing cards, dolls and other collectibles, and also derived much pleasure from her pet dogs, “Fluffy,” “Cutie” and “Blackie.”
Surviving are her children, Edith Peck, Amasa Peck, William (Donna) Peck, Lenora (Robert) Schelhas, Richard (Tammie) Peck, Peter (Wendy) Peck, Walter and Cindy Prosser, Norman Prosser, Anna Nelson, Tim (Lila) Prosser, Kathy (Ronald) Diefendbacher, Richard (Tammy) Head, Corey (Lynn) Prosser; many grand and great-grandchildren; a brother, John R. Coss; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was pre-deceased by her companion of 23 years, Harry J. Prosser (2008), who was a former longtime Norwich resident; children, Hildreth and John Peck, and Randy Prosser; brothers, Charles and Willard Coss.
Friends are invited to call Thursday from 11 a.m. until service time at 1 pm, at the Hall & Peet Funeral Home, Delhi. The Rev. Jeffrey Staples will officiate. A reception and “Dish to Pass” Luncheon will follow at the Delhi American Legion hall. Spring burial will be in Andes Rural Cemetery.
