Marjorie Baldwin


GUILFORD – Marjorie Jean Baldwin 88, of Guilford passed away Sunday, Jan. 23, 2011 at the New York State Veterans’ Home in Oxford.
She was born Aug. 29, 1922, daughter of the late Joseph and Rose (Kern) Schlafer in Sidney.
Marjorie married LeRoy Baldwin in Honesdale, Pa. on Sept. 10, 1939. He predeceased her on April 19, 1992.
Marjorie and LeRoy were talented musicians she would the play the accordion and he the guitar for local square dances. Her love for music and dancing was only surpassed by her love for her family. Marjorie was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be truly missed.
She is survived by four sons: Murray and Martha Baldwin, Fairbanks, Alaska, Joseph and Christine Baldwin, Guilford, Dale Baldwin and Christine Fletcher, Guilford, William and Paula Baldwin, New Berlin; three daughters: Ramona and Charles Ingham, Guilford, Kathy Weber and Dave Miller, Masonville, Bonnie and Jesse Moffitt, Masonville; a brother, Conrad Schlafer, Unadilla; 17 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 2 great, great grandchildren; nieces and nephews and cousins. Marjorie is also predeceased by a son, Edward and a sister, Evelyn.
Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel 21 Main St. Sidney. Funeral Services will follow at 11. Rev. Patty Wolff, pastor of the East Guilford Presbyterian Church, will officiate.
Burial will be in East Guilford Cemetery.
