NORWICH – Mildred E. Whaley, 96, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2011 at Valley View Manor in Norwich.
She was born Nov. 25, 1914 to Elliott and Grace (Wales) Whaley. She worked for Deuel Nursing Home and the NYS Veterans Home, as well as running the family farm as a true pioneer woman.
She is survived by her daughter Norma Turner and her sister Jessie Sayles, plus numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and their families. She was predeceased by her brothers Norris, Carey, Grant, Verne, Erford and Carl, as well as her sisters Gladys, Anna and Viola.
At Mildred’s request there will be no formal services.
Arrangements were handled by Behe Funeral Home in Oxford.
