GILBERTSVILLE – Gary D. Larsen, 60, of Gilbertsville, passed away Sunday , January 9, 2011 at Wilson Hospital in Johnson City. 
He was born in Oneonta, the son of Kenneth Floyd Larsen and Jean (Erickson) Larsen. He married Ellen Szatkowski in 1984 at the First Presbyterian Church in Gilbertsville. Gary was a well known area dairy farmer. He was a former member of the Gilbertsville Fire Department as well as having served on the Butternut Town Board for eight years. He was a founding member of the Butternut Farms Organic Coop, and was an avid deer hunter.
He is survived by his wife Ellen of Gilbertsville, his sons Kenneth F. Larsen of Gilbertsville and Bill Larsen of Oneonta, his mother, Jean Larsen of Oneonta, a sister Barb Hill and husband Mike and family of Gilbertsville, his aunt Ida Mae and Herman Bridger of Cooperstown,  his farm partner, Bill Frone of Gilbertsville and many very close friends.
He was predeceased by his brother Alan Larsen, his father Kenneth Floyd Larsen, and his grandparents Viggo and Bessie (Card) Larsen.
It was Gary’s request that no calling hours or services be held.
