NORWICH – Yvonne Rhea Ferguson, 84, of Delaware Square, passed away Monday, Dec. 27, 2010 at her home.
Yvonne was born Feb. 16, 1926 in Chicopee Falls, Mass., a daughter of William and Pamela Laprada Riley. A resident of Norwich since 1958, Yvonne had worked at the Norwich Shoe Co., T.A.C.O. in Sherburne, and Howard Johnson in Norwich. She was a member of the Agape Baptist Church of Norwich.
Surviving are her children, Robert Riley of Ohio; Kenneth Ferguson, Sharon Bryce, Mildred and Paul Cox, Bernard Ferguson, Patricia and Richard Thorpe, all of Norwich; and Jeanette Mitten of Florida; a sister, Angie Costa of California; 23 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving is her faithful canine companion, Princess. Yvonne was predeceased by her husband; a daughter, Francis Graser and the rest of her siblings.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne. Following the service a gathering will be held at the Agape Baptist Church.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Friday from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service.
Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
