Julia Stage


NEW BERLIN – Julia Fay Hendrickson Stage, 72, of New Berlin, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Dec. 16, 2010 at Valley View Nursing Home, Norwich.
She was born on July 4, 1938 in Columbus, the daughter of Millard & Ardath Calhoun Hendrickson. Her childhood was spent in the Columbus and New Berlin areas where she attended New Berlin Central School. On Nov. 5, 1960 she married Robert Stage, who predeceased her on June 20, 2003.
Julia is survived by her children, Rebecca (Stage) Ritchey and her husband Theodore of Pittsfield; Randy Stage and his wife Colleen of Pittsfield; Keith Stage and wife Jody of Columbus, and Kurt Stage and wife Gwen of Oneonta. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Joseph (Brie) Ritchey; Nicholas (BobbieJo) Stage, Andrew (Krystie) Ritchey, Justin Stage (Amber Dean) and Kayla Stage as well as Great Grandchildren, Quinn Ritchey and Errolyn Northcutt.
She survived by her brother and sister, Harriet Simons and her husband James and Daniel Hendrickson and his wife Clara.
She was predeceased by her siblings: Leland Hendrickson, Evelyn Johannsen, Anna Hickling, Willard Hendrickson, Neil (Tom) Hendrickson, Paul Hendrickson and Sarah Jennison.
Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Dakin Funeral Home LP, New Berlin, with the Reverend Stephen Reese officiating. Calling hours will be from 5 to 6 p.m. prior to the funeral service also at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Columbus Corners Cemetery.
Julia enjoyed dancing and watching her husband play guitar in a country band. She also loved to play bingo.
Memorial donations may be made to the Valley View Nursing Home, Norwich.
