NORWICH – Virginia Welch, 73, of Norwich, passed away Friday afternoon, Dec. 17, 2010 in the Valley View Manor Nursing Home of Norwich.
Born in Smyrna in September of 1937, Virginia was the daughter of Otis and Beatrice Evans Welch. She grew up in the Smyrna and Earlville area and was a graduate of the Earlville school. While living in the area, she had been employed for several years by the Earlville Paperbox Co. Over the years Virginia has made her home in Earlville, Binghamton, Hubbardsville and Norwich. Virginia enjoyed people, good conversation and could make friends easily.
Virginia is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Marilyn and Wayne Jones of Clarksville, Tenn.; her sister-in-law Joyce Welch of Norwich; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Don Welch.
Funeral services for Virginia will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday from the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Willcox Cemetery of Smyrna.
Friends may call at the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m.
