David Beckwith


ENDICOTT – David Linn Beckwith, 63, Endicott, passed away on Dec. 2, 2010 at Lourdes Hospital after a short illness.
He was born on June 9, 1947 in Sidney, the son of Fred & Gladys (Hale) Beckwith, and grew up in Oxford, attending Oxford Academy. David lived in Binghamton and Endicott for many years and worked in the local construction industry as well as American Legion Post 80, Barnaby’s Pub and for Matrix Facility Management.
David is survived by his wife, Minetta Sue (Loucks) Beckwith, Pt. St. Lucie, Fla.; daughters Wendy (Chris) Seltzer, Whitney Point, Sarah (Stacie Baxter) Beckwith, Endicott, Joanna (Daniel) Reagan, New Windsor; stepson, Kevin Davies, Pt. St. Lucie, Fla.; grandchildren, Katie, Chelsea, Taylor, Connor, Natalie, and Paxton. He is also survived by his mother Gladys Johnson of Towanda, Pa.; sisters, Carol(Charles) McConnell, Laurel, Md., Connie (Dale) Allis, Wyalusing, Pa.; brothers, Larry (Ronnie) Beckwith, Oxford, and Charles (Dottie Ostrander) Beckwith, Guilford; his first wife, Phyllis (Diamond) Church, Port Crane. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, Dec. 6 at the Behe Funeral Home, 21 Main St., Oxford, with Pastor Jim Collins of the Castle Creek United Methodist Church officiating. Friends may call at the Behe Funeral Home on Monday from 1p.m. until the time of the service.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Assoc., American Cancer Society or to the charity of one’s choice.
