Gail Taylor


SOUTH PLYMOUTH – Gail J. Taylor, 69, of South Plymouth, passed away Thursday evening, Nov. 25, 2010 at the Stonehedge Nursing Home in Rome.
Born in Madison, in December of 1940 Gail was the daughter of George and Thelma (Jones) Huggins. She grew up in the Norwich area and was a graduate of the Norwich High School. On July 15, 1961 in Plymouth, she married Milton L. Taylor, who passed away March 3, 2001.
Gail was very family oriented and always kept herself busy. She bowled in several of the city leagues, enjoyed a good game of golf, enjoyed working in her flower garden and was also very good at craft work especially needlepoint. Gail and her sister Bev could often be seen walking in the of Norwich.
Over the years Gail has worked for Champion Products, Norwich Aero and Norwich Court Apts. She will best be remembered as manager of Carl’s Drug Store in Norwich for over 18 years.
Gail is survived by her sons, Jeffrey Taylor of Norwich and Timothy Taylor and his wife Connie of Clermont, Fla., her grandchildren Amy, Lacy, Brandon and Ashley, her sister Beverly Scheuerman of Norwich and her brothers Bruce Huggins and wife Sylvia of South Plymouth, Gerald Huggins and wife Sharon of Cobleskill and Roger Huggins and wife Barbara of Sherburne. Also surviving is her brother-in-law Angelo Testa of Cortland along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her husband Milton, Gail was predeceased by her sister Judy Testa and brother Ron Huggins.
In keeping with the family wish’s there will be no formal services.
Arrangements are with the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home.
