NEW BERLIN – Thomas Ryan, 66, of New Berlin, passed away on Nov. 26, 2010 in Syracuse.
He was born on January 15, 1944 in Gowanda, the son of Arthur and Margaret (Beckman) Ryan.
Tom resided with Mary Hoxie for 39 years and with Jayne Baker for the past four years in New Berlin. He was employed by the Norwich Shoe Factory, the Paul Malay Center and Broome Developmental Services all of New Berlin. He was a hard worker, doing many odd jobs such as raking lawns and shoveling snow and was a very loving, kind and gentle person who cherished his Native American heritage, his family and friends.
He is survived by nine siblings; Veronica Papineau, Arlene Martini, Barbara Brokenleg, Bonnie Ryan, Judy Compton, Jackie Ryan, Donna Larebe, Sheri Redance and Laureen Ryan.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Wednesday at the Dakin Funeral Home LP, New Berlin, with Pastor Gary Folz officiating. Calling hours will be held from 11 a.m. to noon prior to the funeral service.
The burial will be held on the Onondaga Nation Burial Ground.
