Larry Steward


NORWICH – Larry Steward, 56, former long-time resident of Norwich and recently of Tampa, Fla., passed away unexpectedly on Nov. 9, 2010, at his home.
Born in Norwich in July of 1954, to Everett and Frederica Crook Steward Sr., Larry grew up in Norwich and attended the local schools. As a boy, he was a newspaper carrier, and was a bag boy for a time for Victory Markets. His real employment was as a lineman for cable companies throughout the United States, and he was one of the youngest supervisors in cable TV history. A free spirit who loved life, the roar of a motorcycle engine, and motorcycles in general, he also liked to hunt and fish. He was a man who made friends easily and will be greatly missed.
Larry is survived by his children: Jessica Nicole Steward and fiance Matthew Vakos of Virginia Beach, and Chad Everett Steward and companion Maren McCarthy of Norwich; by his mother, Frederica Steward of Norwich; his sister, Judy Steward Gray of Norwich; and nieces and nephews. Larry was predeceased by his dad, Everett Sr., and his brother, Everett Jr.
Memorial services for Larry will be held at 1 p.m. Monday from the R.J. Fahy Funeral home. Interment will be private at the family’s convenience. Friends are invited to call at the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home on Monday from 11 a.m. until the service at 1 p.m.
