Mary Ballard


OTSELIC – Mary E. Ballard, 75, of Otselic, passed away at the home of her daughter, Canday Norwood on Nov. 22, 2010.
She was born on Aug. 2, 1935 in Greene a daughter of the late Frank and Beatrice (Hackett) Williams.
She is survived by her children, Diane and husband Patrick King, Sr. of Sherburne, Virginia and husband Leroy Burlingame, Jr. of Norwich, George Ballard, Jr. and companion Nancy West of McDonough, Canday and husband Tim Norwood of Otselic, Hope and husband Jamie Williams of Oxford, and John Ballard and companion Jennifer Blackman of Oxford; her brothers and sisters, Gerald and wife Eleanor Williams, Doris and husband Irvie Bush, Marie and husband Gene Hamilton, Ernest and wife Pat Williams, Linda and husband John Covell, and Kathy and husband Danny Frayer all of Oxford. Several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive. She is also survived by her former husband George Ballard, Sr. She was predeceased by her brothers, Robert Williams, Frank Williams, Jr., Douglas Williams, Donald Williams, and Curtiss Williams; and her companion, David Wilcox.
Mary worked at many different positions at the Chenango Valley Home for many years. She also worked for Egglow Farms for several years. She loved to cook and bake and was the “best cook.” She enjoyed listening to country music and taking trips. She was known for socializing with her family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 29, at the Behe Funeral Home, 21 Main St., Oxford with the Rev. Allen Lang, pastor of the United Church of Oxford officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Oxford.
Friends may call at the Behe Funeral Home, Oxford on Sunday from 6-9 p.m.
